Great Vet with FLEA Solution
I went to the vet who practices all kinds of different methods of health care for dogs. Acupuncture, homeopathy, manipulation, vet medicine, oriental medicine, and probably lots of other stuff.
He’s not a very social guy, but he knows his stuff really well. He gave her a once-over, took blood to see what’s going on, told me she has a slight heart murmur that we need to keep in mind (like for heart worms and such). So her heart is a little compromised.
I asked him about the fleas and he said don’t do the diatomaceous earth. That because she has a cough, we don’t want to do anything that will irritate that tissue more. Good point. I actually hadn’t thought of that.
He said the product Advantage is a good product and doesn’t have any real adverse effects on organs or body systems. Of course, I’m against harsh chemicals, but he said it’s ok. So I’ll try it.
For the environment, use borax in carpet and such. Will wait to use this to see if other things control the fleas.
For bathing her, forget the expensive flea shampoo and use Sunlight dishwashing liquid. Also, for outdoors, put some sunlight in one of those sprayer things you attach to a hose and spray the yard. It’s also good to spray roses because it kills some bug that gets roses.
Who’da thought?!
I’ll get the results of the blood test and he said possibly antibiotics for the cough. We’ll see.
